When might FESS be considered?

FESS is endoscopic surgery that opens sinus drainage through the nostrils. It is considered when sinus disease continues after proper medical treatment, or when a blockage will not drain without surgery.

What it is not

It is not a cosmetic nose operation, and it is not the treatment for allergy by itself.

How the decision is made

Symptoms, endoscopy and a scan are read together. Dr. Dipen Thakkar will say if continued medicines are more appropriate.
